Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Cytyc Corporation of Boxborough, MA for the purchase and installation of a Thin Prep 2000 Processor. The processor must be FDA approved for both gynecologic cytology slide preparation and whose collection medium is FDA approved for Human Papillomavirus (HPV) DNA studies. The equipment must allow for testing of both from one vial if necessary. NAICS 339112. To the best of our knowledge, Cytyc is the only vendor who has equipment which is FDA approved as indicated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within (ten) 10 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with the Cytyc Corporation.
