Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center (FMC), Butner, North Carolina, intends to issue a sole-source purchase order to Sun Nuclear Corporation to provide MapCheck IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) Patient Plan QA System. The Government believes that Sun Nuclear is the only manufacturer that will satisfy the agency requirement. This is a sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). The MapCheck IMRT Patient Plan Q/A System is a is a 2-dimensional therapy beam measurement system intended for quick and precise verification of the dose distribution resulting from an IMRT plan. Beam measurement is accomplished using a grid of 445 diode detectors that are housed between two sheets of solid acrylic. The MapCheck measures the integrated absolute dose at all detector locations, each of which has been corrected to the central detector sensitivity. This measured dose map is then automatically normalized and compared to a normalized imported treatment plan dose map, all in less than one minute. The NAICS Number 334517 applies with a size standard of 500 employees. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes, however; any firm that believes that it can meet the specifications above may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 4 days of publication of this notice. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries may be sent to Mary Doyle, S.C.S.
