Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Hamilton Associates, Inc, 11403 Cronridge Drive, Owings Mills, MD 21117-2247 for a High Flow Particulate Tester. This unit is to incorporate the following features: Accommodate a 10" diameter fixture (5" offset required = 1" greater than normal), NIOSH/CDC will supply test fixture. DOP reagent meeting 42 CFR part 84 size requirements (0.185 +/- 0.020 micron CMD) generating approximately 20 to 30 mg/m3, using one generator so that results can match the TSI 8130 testers that are currently being used for certification. 0 to 150 mm/H2O resistance level. Capacity 100-500 slpm sample flow rate. Able to measure 99.997% with a penetration accuracy of 0.001%. Manual operation. This High Flow Particulate Tester will be used for the developmental test that will be used for studies to develop new certification standards for respirator under new CBRN standard Title, 42, Part 84, to fully satisfy developmental tests of equipment used in new respiratory standard required this equipment for evaluation of usefulness to the government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award of a Federal contract. The preferred method for completing registration is via the World Wide Web at http://www.ccr.gov/. A handbook and other information are available at the site, including information on how to obtain a DUNS number, which is required to begin the registration process. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. The government will consider all proposals received by 8:30 AM, EST, Monday, August 9, 2004. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries will only be accepted by email to dreedpenix@cdc.gov.
