Description

This notice if for informational purposes only. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to purchase a complete Particle Size Analysis System from Malvern Instruments, 10 Southville Road, Southborough, MA 01752. This equipment is for the measurement of size, molecular weight and zeta potential of dispersed particles and molecules in solution, and needs to include 4mW 633 He-Ne Laser. Measurement in non polar liquids requires universal cell option with a required temperature ran 2 deg. C minimum, 90 deg c maximum (70 deg. C maximum with disposable DTS1060 cell). The size range shall be 0.6 mm to 6 microns. This equipment is needed for an on-going study therefore it is not in the best interest of the government to utilize optional equipment to complete this study. The Government intends to evaluate offers and award a purchase order utilizing simplified acquisition procedures. Therefore, the initial offer should contain the offeror=s best terms from a technical and price standpoint. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the Size Standard is NTE 500 employees. This requirement is a small business set-aside. Interested vendors capable of furnishing the government with the products in this synopsis should submit two (2) copies of a quotation to the below address. The quotation shall include the itemized price, prompt payment terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), Taxpayer Identification Number (TNN), Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNs), and descriptive literature of the product quoted. The quotation must reference Solicitation number 2004-Q-01556. Quotations will be due fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication date of this synopsis or August 9, 2004, by 8:30 a.m. local time, whichever is later. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. Quotations must be submitted in writing to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2920 Brandywine Road, Atlanta, GA 30341, Attention: Dorothy Reed Penix. Email quotations will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative to: dreedpenix@cdc.gov. This action is pursuant to 41 USC 253(1) and under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The requirement will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with FAR Part 12.102(c) under the test program. Quotes will be due August 9, 2004, by 8:30 AM EST at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Facilities and Construction Management Branch; Attn: Dorothy Reed Penix; 2920 Brandywine Road, MS K-71, Atlanta, GA 30341. Facsimile quotes will be accepted at 770-488-2847. RFQ# 2004-Q-01556. Attn: Dorothy Reed Penix, shall be clearly marked on the envelope and/or facsimile cover page. All responsible sources that can meet the above requirement may submit a quote, which will be considered by the Agency. The Central Contracting Registry is a central repository of all Contractors who wish to do business with the Federal Government. All vendors who wish to bid on the requirement MUST be registered and validated in the CCR prior to award of this Simplified Acquisition. Vendors who submit a quotation are showing that they are registered or plan to do so. Vendors who are not registered will not be considered for award.
