Description
The Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement is seeking information from industry with respect to currently available as well as future wireless communication devices. Set forth herein are the minimum capabilities desired for communication devices. The Government is also interested in any devices planned for near term release (within the next six months) which might exceed the stated requirements. Please note requirements are listed with 2 designations ? either M for mandatory or P for preferred: 1. Telephony Capability ? M 2. Data Storage ? M 3. Data Communication ? M 4. Voice Activation - P Industry representatives wishing to reply to this RFI should submit capability statements by the time and date established below. Capability statements should clearly delineate all technical features available on a given device. If the device is not currently available on the commercial market, the capability statement should advise as to the expected availability date. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as PROPRIETARY will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. Response to this RFI should be sent electronically to nancy.ballay@dhs.gov.
