- Description
- ?Nomadic unit or system? The Nomadic unit is a self contained system that provides wireless, two-way, high speed network connectivity to the USDA backbone network via VSAT (satellite) and/or Digital TV (DTV). The Nomadic unit provides in and out-of-vehicle connectivity to multiple NRCS wireless computers and other peripherals using secure 802.11 ab/g. The Nomadic unit will be mounted on NRCS vehicles (pickups and sports utility) and provide connectivity to the USDA network from rural and remote areas in Texas. The purpose of this solicitation is to acquire nomadic units, project management, and operation network service, maintenance, and support services that aid Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) personnel in the delivery of conservation programs that bring about the conservation and protection of natural resources in Texas. The scope of services for this solicitation includes nomadic units, bandwidth service, use of vendors? network, network management, Internet Protocol connectivity services, interconnect facility, project/ implementation management, installation of equipment and software, training, ongoing support, and on-site maintenance. The contract will be an ID/IQ requirements contract to include a Base Year plus 2 Option Years. NRCS reserves the right to award a single delivery order contract or task order contract or to award multiple delivery order contracts or task order contract for this project. The NAICS Code is 517410. This project is unrestricted. Solicitation will be posted and be available to download on or about August 2, 2004. All contractors are required to be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to being awarded a contract by NRCS. The CCR database is the primary Government repository for contractor information required to conduct business with the Federal Government. If your firm is already registered in CCR, please provide your DUNS number in Block 14, under Code in the solicitation. The DUNS number will be used to verify your registration in CCR. If your firm is not currently registered, please register in CCR and then enter your DUNS number in Block 18, under Code in the solicitation. Please note, as of October 1, 2003, NRCS cannot award a contract to a firm not registered in CCR. There are basically 2 steps to register: 1, Obtain a DUNS number by calling Dun and Bradstreet at 1-866-705-7511. 2. Register in CCR. The preferred method for registration is via the World Wide Web at http://www.ccr.gov. The CCR Handbook and a registration template are located at that site, under the tab titled ?CCR Handbook.?
