Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for fuels management services 75 miles southwest of St. George Utah on the Arizona Strip just south of Mt. Trumbull Wilderness and north of the Grand Canyon National Park to accomplish the following: The project area in East Trumbull contains an estimated 69 acres of fuel wood, pole and small diameter trees to be removed on public lands administered by the Arizona Strip Field Office. The project area is primarily ponderosa pine, pinyon pine, and juniper timber types with slopes of 0 to 20 percent. All Ponderosa pine and juniper trees 10.9 inches and less in diameter at breast height will be felled. The majority of trees to be felled are ponderosa pine (approximately 24 trees per acre), with some juniper (approximately 16 per acre). The "product" portion of this stewardship project consists of cord wood derived from ponderosa pine and juniper trees in the 6 (5.0-6.9) 8 (7.0-8.9) and 10 (9.0-10.9) inch diameter class. The "service" portion of the agreement includes falling all ponderosa pine and juniper trees less than 10.9 inches DBH on the 69 acre unit. If desired, the purchaser may remove all designated material from the site, however, all ponderosa pine and juniper left on site less than 10.9 inches in diameter at breast height must be felled, limbed and bucked to no more than (4) four feet in length. This includes furnishing labor, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals to perform all work necessary to accomplish the required services. The period of performance will begin on or about September 14, 2004 and continue for approximately six months. This requirement is 100% set aside for small businesses under NAICS 115310. This solicitation will be available on or about July 29, 2004. A pre-proposal site tour will be held on August 12, 2004. Potential offerors should meet at 9:00 A.M. UTAH TIME at the BLM Arizona Strip Field Office, 345 E Riverside Drive, St George, Utah. Potential offerors are to provide their own transportation at no cost to the Government. The Government assumes no liability on behalf of offerors attending the site visit. Offerors planning to attend the site visit tour shall contact Aaron Wilkerson (435) 688-3209 at least 48 hours before the scheduled site visit and advise him of the firm's name and number of persons that will attend.
