Description

The government cannot guarantee an offeror will be added to the bidders list if registration is not confirmed via email or fax. DESCRIPTION: SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING DRAWINGS, WILL BE AVAILABLE ON CD ONLY. Th e work will consist of modifying the existing intake tower access bridge for greater resistance to a seismic event. The bridge consists of an approach span and a main span that share a common pier footing. The approach span is likewise anchored to the ab utment and the main span is anchored to the intake tower opposite the pier. The approach span shall be reinforced with a diaphragm at the abutment and the pier. The main span deck and supporting beams shall be reinforced by adding diaphragms along the ce nter portion of the span. The main span shall be reinforced at each end by modifying the end frames that extend from the top and bottom truss chords. The main span rocker bearings at the pier shall be replaced with slide pot bearings, and the fixed beari ngs at the intake tower shall be replaced with upgraded fixed bearings. The intake tower concrete seat shall be modified and strengthened. The structural steel was originally coated with lead-based paint and has received at least one subsequent painting with non lead-based paint. All paint within the area of working (welding, cutting, grinding, etc) shall be removed, contained, stored and disposed as a hazardous waste. The 480 volt, 3 phase electrical power conduit and supply for intake gate operation a nd low-voltage communication cable will have to be modified to accommodate new design and anticipated range of motion. ADMIN INFO: The estimated cost range for this job is between $100,000 and $250,000. THIS IS A SET ASIDE PROCUREMENT IAW HUBZONE SET-AS IDE PROCEDURES AND FAR 19.1305. All responsible HUBZone business sources may submit an offer, which will be considered. THIS PROCUREMENT IS HUBZONE SET ASIDE. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237310. The small business si ze standard is average annual receipts for the previous three fiscal years must not exceed $28,500,000.00. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Con tractor Registration (CCR). Contractors can access the CCR for free at http://www.ccr.gov. This synopsis is not a request for proposals, but a notice that a solicitation will be issued.
