Description

Pursuant to the authority cited in FAR Part 6.302-1 (a) and 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) the Sierra Pacific Network Consolidated Contracting Activity VISN 21 intends to negotiate a sole source lease with Biomeriux Vitek Incorporated for the following medical equipment to be located at the VA Medical Center San Francisco. This is an upgrade from the Vitek to Vitek 2. This upgrade includes an automated susceptibility instrument, computer system and interface software to the VA Medical Center San Francisco. The instrument must perform rapid susceptibility testing without using hazardous chemicals. The manufacture will hold title to the instrument and computer system. All service and maintenance will be the responsibility of the manufacture of the equipment and will be base on a Standard service on-site 24 hours a day, 5 days a week (M-F) is part of the lease agreement. The Government has determined that this is the only responsible source and no other equipment will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. No solicitation package will be made available. The determination to open competition based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government.
