Description
Contractor shall provide modifications to existing fire pump system to accommodate new pressure relief valve piped back to fire pump suction. The modifications include: a) installation of a new 10-inch double check backflow preventer, b) installation of a new 6-inch pilot operated pressure relief valve, c) replacement of jockey pump sensing line, and d) all related demolishing and installation at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Richmond, Virginia as required by this solicitation. The general character and scope of the work will be illustrated on the drawings. The contractor shall field verify all existing conditions and dimensions indicated on the drawings prior to commencement of work on this contract. Failure to inspect site conditions shall not relieve contractor from fulfilling contractual obligations. Construction cost range $25,000.00 to $100,000.00. The NAICS is 238220; Size Standard is $12.0 Million. 100% Small Business Set-Aside. All work shall be performed in full accordance with drawings and specifications. Completion time is sixty (60) calendar days after Notice to Proceed. The Government will award a Firm Fixed Price contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforms to this solicitation and will be the "Best Value" to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject any or all offers at any time prior to the award; to negotiate with any or all offerors; to award the contract to other than the Offerors submitting the lowest total price; and award to the Offeror submitting the proposal determined by the Government to be the most advantageous to the Government. Offerors are advised that an award might be made without discussion or any contact concerning the proposals submitted. Offers should be submitted in the most favorable terms. Offerors should not assume that they would be contacted or afforded an opportunity to qualify, discuss, and/or revise their proposals. Offers are due on or before August 23, 2004.
