Description

The U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa, Japan intends to negotiate a sole-source order with Synthes for the purchase of surgical implants (titanium femoral and tibial nails ranging in sizes from 10mmX300mm to 14mmX400mm). NH Okinawa is seeking consideration, in the form of credits and/or discounted pricing, for the trade-in of Synthes titanium femoral and tibial nails. Contact the Contracting Officer for a copy of the solicitation and items to be traded-in. NH Okinawa will evaluate based on the final cost after the application of credits and/or discounts, in order to achieve best value. NAICS for this requirement is 423450. The contractor shall be responsible for door-to-door delivery of shipment directly to NH Okinawa (Japan) and providing tracking information. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 7 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the contractor?s capability to provide the implants. Information can be e-mailed to the Contracting Officer. No telephone requests or inquiries will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa, Japan will proceed with the sole source procurement with Synthes.
