- Description
- NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Offers (RFO) for the design, development, fabrication, and delivery of one Reaction Wheel Assembly (RWA) for a Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) payload, the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the Specification and Statement of Work (SOW) that will be provided with the issuance of the RFO. This procurement will be a full and open competition under NASA FAR Supplement (NFS) Part 1871, "Midrange Procurement Procedures." The aggregate amount of which is not more than $10,000,000, and the NFS can be accessed at: http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/procurement/regs/nfstoc.htm . NASA GSFC anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price type contract for the Solar Dynamic Observatory (SDO)Reaction Wheel Assembly (RWA). The Government does not intend to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12. See NASA Specific Numbered Note "26" -- this can be accessed at the following URL: http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/nasanote.html . The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code and Size Standard are 336419 and 1,000 employees, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about August 2 2004, with an anticipated offer closing date on or about September 2, 2004. The actual due date for receipt of offers will be stated in the prospective RFO. Upon issuance of the RFO, all qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by this agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The prospective RFO and related documents (e.g., Specification, SOW, etc.) for this procurement will be available via the Internet. Related documents will be provided in Microsoft Office 2000 format and these documents will be accessible on the World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
