- Description
- SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston is seeking to identify commercially available and/or advanced development/near production-ready radiation detection and monitoring products capable of meeting the Navy's need for a low cost, self-indicating, high dose radiation dosimeter for contingency/casualty purposes. This survey/request for information is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as an Invitation For Bid (IFB) or Request For Proposal (RFP). No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the submission of responses or the Government use thereof. Information provided may be used by the Department of the Navy in refining its requirements definition and developing its acquisition approach and schedules. Responses to a prior Request For Information on this subject, posted in July 2003, indicated relevant industry interest and capabilities. Preliminary information provided has been useful in refining initial draft requirements. Any manufacturer or developer of self-indicating dosimeters of any type, potentially capable of meeting the Navy's needs are requested to respond. Responses should provide a detailed technical description of the product and should include specific dosimetric performance data relative to the Navy's operational and performance goals. The dosimeters may be required to operate/perform in a variety of environmental conditions, from mild to harsh, with conditions possibly changing between the extremes during use. Potential operating conditions, desired product features and capabilities, performance and cost goals are provided in the attached table entitled SICD Requirements (Attachment 1), linked to this announcement. Interested firms are requested to review the posted SICD Requirements and indicate, in the area provided, their product's ability to satisfy, or describe their product's performance or capabilities relative to, each performance element identified. Anticipated or estimated volume pricing (e.g. for 10K, 50K, 100K, thru 400K quantities), production/delivery rate (i.e. units/month), and earliest availability information is also requested. Additional information, to include brochures, data sheets, web sites (URLs), etc., is welcomed. Information provided may be shared with other government agencies. Proprietary data, if submitted, should be marked as such. Responses should also include the following: (1) name and address of firm; (2) size of business; (3) number of years in business; (4) average annual revenue for past three years, and (5) technical capability. Responses to this market survey are requested by 11 August 2004 and should be sent in electronic format/media via e-mail address: steven.dangerfield@navy.mil or U.S. Mail to: Commanding Officer, Attn: Code 62GSD, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston, P.O. Box 190022, North Charleston, SC 29419-9022.
