Description

The National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Mettler-Toledo, Columbus, Ohio under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a Single Source, to disassemble, move, assemble, set-up, testing and re-commission Mettler-Toledo mass comparators. Mettler-Toledo was the designer and manufacturer of the state-of-the-art, high-precision comparators that are to be moved and re-installed in new laboratories. Mettler-Toledo is the only qualified vendor available to move and set up the equipment back to their high-precision specifications. A fixed price purchase order will be issued on or about July 26, 2004. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation nor is it a request for competition.
