- Description
- Over the past seven years, the Border Patrol has incorporated various electronic surveillance technologies within the current Integrated Surveillance Intelligence System (ISIS) to assist its agents in preventing illegal aliens, smugglers, narcotics and other contraband from entering the United States. These technologies have included seismic sensors, video surveillance systems (day and night), and monitoring equipment. The Integrated Surveillance Intelligence System Program Office of the U.S. Border Patrol is pleased to announce an Industry Day for potential vendors seeking to offer services for the ISIS America?s Shield Initiative. The purpose of the Industry Day is to improve the understanding of Government requirements and industry capabilities. Although the Government does not intend to award a contract at this time, this Industry Day is one of the preliminary steps for a future acquisition to acquire an integrated system that will: Maintain the operational capability of the currently installed systems; Increase the amount of border covered by electronic surveillance to serve as a force-multiplier for currently manual ?line-watch? methods; Provide improved situational awareness and interoperability with other law enforcement agencies; Decrease the life-cycle cost for the system as it continues to increase in size and capability; Meet the enterprise architecture and technology reference model standards. As space is limited, it is required that interested vendors limit their attendance to two representatives per company. The sessions will provide information on the current ISIS system, the Border Patrol Mission, History and new National Strategy. The Industry Day will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2004. The event will be held in the Auditorium of the MITRE McLean conference center at 7515 Colshire Drive, McLean, VA. Prior registration is required.
