- THIS IS A MODIFICATION TO THE SYNOPSIS POSTED ON JANUARY 30, 2004. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst intends to PROCURE 5 PILOT PRODUCTION Boresight Measurement Equipment (BME) units with Logistics Support. The BME is needed for boresight alignment of combat aircraft, ashore and afloat. The BME shall be Common Support Equipment compatible with, and work in conjunction with, existing AH-1Z, AH-1W and MH-60R aircraft specific adapters and software. Contractor shall provide existing commercial BME which meets the needs of the Government as specified in the BME Specification. A pre-award demonstration MAY BE required to verify the adequacy of the commercial BME. The Government will supply an AH-1W aircraft, all adapters, and software necessary to demonstrate the Offerors BME and the capabilities needed to satisfy the requirements of the Specification and SOW. The demonstration location and dates shall be determined by the Government. Within NINE (9) Months of contract award, the Contractor shall provide four (5) PILOT PRODUCTION UNITS which meet the needs of the Government as specified in the BME Specification. All units shall be in a newly-calibrated, ready for issue (RFI) condition. The Contractor shall retain two (2) units to execute a PILOT PRODUCTION Plan to ensure compliance with the BME Specification. Upon successful completion of TESTING, these units will need to be refurbished to a RFI condition and shipped to a location to be determined by the Government. The Contractor shall supply PRODUCTION UNITS, at the option of the Government, to be exercised at any time in calendar years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, OR 2009. The Contractor shall provide pricing to the Government for production quantities in accordance with a Step Ladder Pricing Schedule. The maximum number of units (INCLUDING PILOT PRODUCTION UNITS) that could be awarded under this contract shall not exceed 55 units. THERE WILL ALSO BE OPTIONS FOR SOFTWARE AND INTERFACE CABLES. The Government is anticipating a Firm Fixed Price contract. Delivery shall be NLT 9 months after contract award. The solicitation AND ANY AMENDMENTS will be posted on the NAVAIR homepage located at http://www.navair.navy.mil Select ?Business,? then "Doing Business With Us? and ?Open Solicitations.? Hard copies of the solicitation and amendments will not be mailed to potential offerors. The solicitation will be posted on the website ON OR ABOUT 28 JULY 2004. The Government will not accept electronic proposals. The solicitation is anticipated to be a full and open competition.
