Description
NA The Air Force has determined that a B-52H Combat Network Communication Technology (CONECT) (RFP: FA8107-04-R-0005) modification is required. CONECT modification program will design, document, develop, integrate, test and install an upgrade communication system and new mission management computers and displays. The contractor shall provide Group A Modification Kits, Group B Modification Kits, associated Engineering and Data Services, and other associated efforts. This effort will consist of three significant increments to this program: 1) Communications Processing Backbone (CIBRR); 2) Airborne Wideband Communications (AWT) and, 3) In-Theater Communications (LINK-16). The approximate issue date will be 02 August 2004. Subject synopsis is determined to be a sole source acquisition to The Boeing Company, 3801 S. Oliver St, Wichita, KS. Written procedure will be used for this solicitation. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor is acceptable. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with the firm listed. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
