- This solicitation is for the contractor to provide all equipment, labor, materials, tools, etc. to perform Savannah River Site Road 9 Resurfacing Project. The type of resurfacing to be applied is Chip seal or otherwise specified by South Carolina Department of Transportation as Bituminous Surfacing (Single Treatment Type 3). Road 9 is an existing asphalt road, 6.4 miles in length and 18 ft wide. There are an average of 1565 L.F. of cracks per mile that need to be cleaned and sealed. There is approximately 150 L.F. of roadway that needs rewidened 1.5ft on each side with Asphalt Surface Course and an additional 100 S.F. of potholes to be cut out and patched with Asphalt Surface Course. We will require the roadway to be swept before and after the Chip Seal is placed. The Chip Seal shall be placed at a 1? depth in accordance with the South Carolina Department of Transportation Specification for Bituminous Surfacing (Single Treatment Type 3). The finished Bituminous Surface must be roller compacted. Material removed or excess to surfacing can be spread evenly along shoulders of roadway. The size standard for this unrestricted solicitation is $28.5 million under NAICS code 237310. Solicitation should be available on this web site on or about 10 Jul 2004. SRS is a restricted access Government facility. The magnitude of the solicitation is between $100,000 and $250,000. A minimum of 72 hours is required to process any security badge requests for U.S. Citizens and up to 30 days could be required for non-U.S. citizens. Contractors should pay close attention to the deadlines to submit information required to gain access for site visit included in the solicitation. Offerors must register on this website in order to receive notification of changes to the solicitation. The offeror is responsible for monitoring this site for release of the solicitation and any subsequent postings.
