Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture intends to procure a climatically controlled, self contained, insulated, walk-in environmental chamber. The chamber must meet the following specification. Inside dimensions shall be nominally eight (8) feet by twelve (12) feet and seven (7) feet high, shall include floor, ceiling, and four walls, and include a 3 to 4 foot wide door with an insulated viewing window. The room shall have interior lighting for work and four 110-volt electrical outlets. All climate control equipment (heating, cooling, humidification, dehumidification) and controls must be provided and integrally mounted. The controls must be digital and be located outside the chamber near the door, and must include alarms. An electrically operated, weekly chart recorder for temperature and humidity must be provided and mounted near the door. Must maintain an inside temperature of 50 to 70 degrees F (+ or ? 3 degree F) with relative humidity controlled from 20% to 90% (+ or ? 3%). The room will be operated inside a building in a ventilated semi-protected environment, and will mot be subject to sunlight precipitation. Electrical requirements may be 480, 220, or 110 volt, 60 hertz connections. An IFB with complete specification requirements will be issued on or about August 2, 2004.
