- This solicitation is issued as unrestricted. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611. The U.S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, has a requirement for a contractor to dry-dock and repair the Dredge Whe eler, an all steel, diesel propelled, sea-going, trailing suction hopper dredge. Length overall 408 feet, 3 inches; maximum breadth 82 feet, 0 inches; minimum draft Aft 21 feet, 6 inches; minimum draft forward 15 feet, 6 inches; lightship displacement 9,8 76.25 long tons. Facilities must be available October 4, 2004. The period of work is 35 calendar days after arrival at the Contractor's facility. Bidding shall be limited to those shipyards in the United States within 1600 nautical miles of the sea buoy at Southwest Pass, Mississippi River. Solicitation W912P8-04-B-0051 is being issued as a Sealed Bid (IFB) and will be available on July 27, 2004. Prospective bidders are encouraged to examine the vessel prior to bid opening. The date for examining the vessel is scheduled for Tuesday, August 10, 2004. Sealed bids are due Thursday, 26 August 2004 at 2:00pm CST. This requirement will be procured as firm fixed price under FAR Part 14 /DFARS 214 Sealed Bidding and Master Agreements. A Master Ship Repair Agreement must be in place or executed prior to award.
