Description

The USDA Agriculture Research Service (ARS) requires that all labor, supervision, tools, and materials be provided to upgrade the HVAC system for Building One at the Appalachian Farming Systems Research Center, Beaver, WV. Work includes demolition, carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical to replace the entire HVAC System. This includes removing 11 roof top air handling units, 15 exhaust fans, duct work, controls, miscellaneous electrical diffusers, and other accessories that serve the 14,000 SF (+/-) building. The new system, to be installed in phases pending the availability of funds, will include five new rooftop air handling units, thirteen exhaust fans, duct work, diffusers, controls, miscellaneous structural, electrical & mechanical work, and ceiling adjustments. The first phase will be for the replacement of the HVAC system covering 5,100 SF (+/-) with two options to install the remaining sections of the system. An additional option is included for the replacement of the water source cooling tower. The estimated cost of construction for the entire replacement is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000. This project must be completed within 660 days after receipt of notice to proceed.
