Description
This solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about July 23, 2004 at http://www.eps.gov/. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive an e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. Please contact Ms. Lisa Jernigan at (757) 628-4647 or ljernigan@mlca.uscg.mil, for assistance using FEDBIZOPPS. The Coast Guard has set-aside the drydocking and repair to the USCGC VISE (WLIC-75305)), a 75 Foot “B” Class Inland Construction Tender and 68 Foot Barge, as a Small Business set-aside. Only SBA certified small business companies may submit quotes. All work will be performed at the contractor’s facility. The performance period is for 42 days, commencing on or about October 18, 2004. The cutter’s homeport is St. Petersburg, FL. There is a geographic restriction from Tampa no further north than Daytona Beach, FL via inland waterways. The scope of the acquisition is for various repairs aboard the USCGC VISE (WLIC-75305). This work may include, but is not limited to: Welding Repairs, Ultrasonic Testing, Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings, Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propellers, Perform Minor Repair and Reconditioning of Propeller, Clean, Inspect and Test Grid Coolers, Clean and Inspect Main Engine and Ship Service Generator Uptakes, Preserve and Renew Tender Transducer and Hull Ring, Preserve and Renew Barge Transducer and Hull Ring, Overhaul and Renew Sea Chest Valves, Inspect and Test Steering System Relief Valves, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assembly, Rebuild Rudder Stock, Renew Rudder Upper Bearing Assembly, Renew Rudder Lower Bearing Assembly, Preserve Barge Spuds and Spud Wells, Repair Gray Water Overboard Discharge Piping, Clean Swage and Gray Water Piping System, Preserve Flammable Storage and Aton Lockers, Renew Tender Push Knee Channels, Preserve Barge Buoy Deck, Preserve Underwater Body, Draft Mark Painting – Barge, Draft Mark Painting – Tender, Preserve Tender and Barge Freeboard, Preserve Tender Exterior Decks, Provide Temporary Messing and Berthing, Renew Barge Rubrails, Provide Temporary Logistics, Routine Drydocking, Replace Barge Sea Chest Waster Pieces, Protect Weatherford CG300 Hydraulic Aton Crane, Inspect Various Deck Fittings, etc. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. Funds are available for this procurement. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. Plans and specifications were issued July 23, 2004. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. Numbered Note 1 applies.
