Description

The solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov Website on or about 7/27/2004. TELEPHONE OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THE SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The work of this contract consists of mechanical, electrical and fire protection work at a vacant classroom and laboratory facility comprising two existing wood-frame buildings and includes related concrete, rough carpentry, roofing and flashing, and finishes for a proper and complete job. The work includes: 1. General requirements, including without limitation coordination, temporary services, controls, fire protection, and temporary facilities. 2. Laboratory Building: Cutting and patching of wall and roof assemblies and all roofing and flashing work related to new building HVAC and laboratory exhaust systems. Removal and resetting of existing batt insulation. 3. Laboratory Building Concrete and Site Preparation: Supply and installation of subbase and concrete equipment pad (for air-cooled split-system) adjacent to laboratory building, including required grading. 4. Laboratory Building Finishes: Paint touch-up. 5. Laboratory Building HVAC: Supply and installation of complete aircooled split system, including fan coil units (FCU), four (4) condensing units, ductwork, wall and ceiling diffusers and grilles, and related insulation. Exhaust fans. (Base Bid excludes make-up air (MUA) system and related air-cooled condensing unit, and laboratory exhaust fan systems; refer to Option No. 1.) 6. Laboratory Building HVAC: Supply and installation of complete hydronic systems, including boiler system with controls, fin-tube radiation, unit heater, and gas and miscellaneous piping. 7. Laboratory Electrical: Supply and installation of mechanical equipment wiring. 8. Option No. 1: Supply and installation of complete laboratory hood exhaust and make-up air (MUA) systems, including MUA equipment, supply air valves, air-cooled condensing unit set on reinforced concrete pad, ductwork, registers and grilles, and related insulation. Three (3) large laboratory exhaust fans. 9. Option No. 2: Supply and installation of new lighting systems throughout Laboratory Building, including fixtures and hardware and connections to existing wiring already in place. Supply and installation of suspended acoustic tile ceilings as indicated, throughout Laboratory Building. Remount existing smoke detector system. 10.Option No. 3: Supply and installation of complete new fire suppression system at laboratory Building, including an internal connection via new valves and backflow reventer to the existing fire sprinkler service, connection to the existing fire detection/alarm system, and incidental cutting and patching. 11.Option No. 4: Supply and installation of complete new fire suppression system at existing Classroom Building, including an internal connection via new valves and backflow preventer to the existing fire sprinkler service, connection to the existing fire detection/alarm system, and incidental cutting and patching. This Solicitation is issued pursuant to Public Law 100-656, Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is open to all concerns, regardless of size. The NAICS code is 238220. All work will be performed under a single contract. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price contract will be awarded. A single award will be made. The construction estimate is between $100,000.00 and $250,000. Contractors must register on the website in order to retrieve copies of the solicitation and any possible amendments. Instructions are contained on the website for downloading solicitation and attachments. It is the responsibility of all interested contractors to acknowledge ALL amendments to the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by the agency. .
