Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Highland Drive Campus, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 intends to negotiate with Intuitive Surgical, Inc., 950 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, for purchase of the da Vinci Surgical System consisting of Surgeon Console , Vision Cart System, Patient Side System, Standard Vision System, Fourth Arm Option, including required instruments and image processing equipment, accessory starter kit, camera starter kit, training instrument starter kit, system documentation manuals and system software. Included with this system is the InSite Vision System with high resolution 3-D Endoscope and Image Processing Equipment which provides the true to life 3-D images of the operative field. Operating images are enhanced, refined and optimized using image synchronizers, high-intensity illuminators and camera control units. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339112. Firms who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate system which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer in writing, no later than 4:00PM on 7/23/04. Such notification must include a complete description of proposed equipment, including narrative and specifications, and must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds the capabilities described above. Notification shall be mailed to Kathleen M. Grundza, Contracting Officer, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh PA 15206. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
