Description
The Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, MS is seeking an author to write an unclassified historical manuscript of approximately 400 double-spaced pages that tells the story of the U.S. Navy Seabees' contribution to Operation Iraqi Freedom. The author shall utilize the work space provided by the Naval Historical Center in Washington, DC for the period of time working on the manuscript. The completed manuscript must be submitted to the Navy within eighteen months after award of an order. The author MUST at a minimum have the following qualifications: A Master's Degree in History, demonstrated writing experience in U.S. Military Histoy, knowledge of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, and possess a "SECRET" security clearance. Personnel that meet these qualifications should submit a written request for a copy of the Solicitation and a Complete Statement of Work to Mr. Bennie Boren by 26 July. The solicitation will be mailed on that date with response due by 13 August 2004. The written request, along with your personal qualifications should be forwarded via fax to 228-871-3212 or email to bkboren@cbcgulfport.navy.mil. No telephone request will be accepted. Quotations submitted based on this information alone WILL not be accepted as it does not adequately describe the duties and responsibilities the author must take to ensure a complete and successful manuscript.
