- The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Salt Lake City Health Care System (VASLCHCS), is seeking potential sources for Architect Engineering (A-E) services. The respondent must be a qualified, small business A-E firm, NAICS 541310, to provide advance planning and design professional services at the VASLCHCS facility. The project to be designed is Minor Construction Project 660-228, Building 14 Surgery Renovation. The A-E services will include site investigations, master planning, design development, construction documents, cost estimation, construction period services, construction inspection, record document preparation, project commissioning, etc. All firms responding should be able to show a thorough knowledge and understanding of current surgical design practices and experience. All building design specialties will be required to address all required construction trades. All construction work is anticipated to occur in Building 14 at the VASLCHCS facility at 500 Foothill Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Selection of A-E by the A-E evaluation board will follow FAR, VAAR & VASLCHCS regulation and policy. A-E firms are encouraged to submit information in the form of SF330 and supplementary information. A-E firms with controlling offices within 100 miles of Salt Lake City are considered to be accessible to the job site. Offices more remote will be considered only if reasonable access and timeliness of response can be demonstrated by the firm?s feasibility proposal. Timely response to the job site is defined by the ability to reach the job site in less than four hours. Design period of all design phases is estimated to be four months. Construction is likely to be multi-phased. Construction period will continue through September 2005. An A-E contract will be issued with an option to continue with additional design of various subsequent phases of OR renovation to be negotiated if funding for further phases of work is available.
