- Services of an Architectural or Engineering firm with specialized experience in design and construction of hospital projects to participate in investigation, design, preparation of working drawings/construction documents, and construction period services for Project No. 596-05-101, REPLACE BOILER SAFETIES/DEAERATOR, CDD at VA Medical Center, Cooper Drive Division, Lexington, KY. Project involves replacement of system components that have exceeded useful equipment life, primarily boiler safety devices such as pressure relief valves, etc., the flue gas oxygen analyzers, and the deaerator (DA) tank and associated components such as condensate storage tank, feed pumps, condensate transfer pumps, and makeup water booster pumps for a plant comprised of three (3) low pressure boilers. Estimated construction cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. Project drawings will be accomplished in AutoCAD .dwg format; specifications will be accomplished in Microsoft Word .doc format. Area of consideration is restricted to firms within 100 miles radius of VAMC Lexington, KY. Interested firms, with required specialization, must submit two copies of Standard Form 330, Architect-Engineer Qualifications, to the issuing office no later than 2:00 p.m., August 17, 2004. Respondents will be reviewed on the basis of: professional qualifications; specialized experience and technical competence in projects of similar type; ability to accomplish the work in the required timeframe; past performance on contracts for projects of similar type; team proposed for this project; previous experience of proposed team; project control (design schedule control and quality assurance reviews of submission documents); and estimating effectiveness. Note: each of these specific review items shall be addressed on the qualifications packages submitted. With reference to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, this solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. North American Industrial Classification No. 541330, with a size standard of $4 million is applicable. This is NOT a Request for Proposals.
