- Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supplies and supervision to perform the work to accomplish Lodger Building (V) at the Portland VA Medical Center, Vancouver Division, Vancouver, Washington. Work includes General building demolition; abatement of hazardous materials; site preparation; general construction, mechanical; electrical; civil and landscaping. Scope of Work: General demolition of buildings B13, B14, B15 Annex, and associated corridor systems to make room for new construction. Remove hazardous materials including asbestos containing materials, lead flashings, refrigerants, and certain other items from buildings. Utility work includes a new gas line and conversion of steam hot water system into gas hot water system. Cap electrical lines, steam lines, sewer lines, water lines, fire water lines and certain other items. Reroute underground fire alarm systems and communications lines. Construct new communications circuits and run conduits with fiber and telephone lines from Building C-19 to Building B15 and new Lodger Building. Construction includes a new single story building of approximately 22,000 square feet to house kidney and liver transplant lodgers in a motel setting. The new construction will include community living areas and motel type bedrooms, mechanical spaces, electrical closets, kitchens, fireplaces and an adjacent office wing. The office wing will consist of offices, work rooms and craft areas. Other construction includes an entry to B15 , sidewalks, gas hot water system, water lines , sewer lines, gas lines, electrical transformer and feeders and certain other mechanical and electrical items. Final grading and landscaping will complete the project. Estimated Construction range is between 1,000,000 and 5,000,000. Period of Performance will be approximately 365 calendar days. NAICS Code 236200 applies. The bid package will be available on or about 5/24/2004 electronically FREE at http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov or http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Copies on CD will be available from the Portland VA by written request only, for a non-refundable $50.00 fee. Only certified checks or money orders will be accepted. No fax or telephone requests will be accepted. Electronic offers will not be accepted. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments. It is essential for Bidders to register on the Solicitation Mailing List for this solicitation to receive notification of any/all amendments.
