Description

Provide Special Mode Van Transportation Services, for Veterans Affairs Medical Center, New Orleans, Louisiana, for the period of October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005, with four (4) one year renewal options. Prospective bidders must have been in an established patient transportation business for at least three (3) years. Contractor shall provide service seven (7) days a week, 24 hours per day, and have sufficient vehicles and personnel to meet the requirements of the contract. It is estimated that the contractor have a minimum of four (4) vehicles, equipped with wheelchair lifts, to meet the requirements of the contract. The government estimates an average number of thirty (30) trips per day. The contractors' vehicles must meet all State of Louisiana and City of New Orleans requirements for vehicles which transport people. Issue date for this solicitation is o/a July 26, 2004. Bid opening date is August 24, 2004 at 2:00 PM CST, Building #2, Room 405, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1601 Perdido Street, New Orleans, LA. Subject to the availability of FY-05 funding. All requests for bid documents must be in writing. This is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. NAICS code is 485991-Special Needs Transportation - $6.0 million.
