- Description
- NASA/JSC has a requirement for additional effort under Contract Number NNJ04HA05C. The original contract contained requirements for 6 lithium ion batteries; this requirement is for the acquition of 5 additional lithium ion batteries for the Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU). NASA/JSC intends to purchase these items from Electrovaya, Inc. Electovaya is the architect and developer of the lithium ion SuperPolymer battery technology, and was awarded Contract NNJ04HA05C on October 2, 2003. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR part 12. See Note 26. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. local time on July 20, 2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B".
