Description
The Southern Plains Area for the Agricultural Research Service, of the U.S. Department of Agriculture intends to issue an award to Big John Manufacturing Co., Osmond, NE 68765. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations (RFQ) for competition. This is a simplified acquisition. The USDA, ARS, Southern Plains Range Research Station, Woodward, Oklahoma require one (1) Chemical Test Plot Sprayer with the following minimum Specifications: Tractor; (1) Self-propelled unit operates at no more than 20 mph; (2) at least a 4 cylinder 85 hp diesel engine; (3) extra heavy duty extended tractor frame with walking rear axle, manual leg wideners for multiple row spacing (all wheels adjustable to accommodate 30? through 48? row spacing); (4) at least a 70? crop clearance under entire tractor for open, easy service and mature crop spraying; (5) rough terrain suspension system; (6) full time independent steering with priority flow hydraulics and no tie rod adjustments; (7) dual pump hydrostatic drive transmission; (8) 4 wheel drive; (9) 9.50 x 32? tires with heavy duty rims; (10) lighting and instrumentation package - such as, ground driven speedometer, tachometer, engine oil pressure gauge, engine temperature gauge, engine hour meter, volt meter, fuel gauge, spray flow meter and spray boom control solenoid switches for right, center, and/or left boom spraying; (11) adjustable steering column, operator console, high back air-ride seat with armrests; (12) joy stick controller; (13) Safety equipment: seat belt, rear view mirrors, interior lights, cab clearance lights and headlights for night time operation, slow moving vehicle sign; (14) high visibility sound guard cab with A/C and heater and charcoal filter system and dust free interior operations; (15) overall length: not to exceed 18?; (16) overall height: not to exceed 13?; (17) overall weight: not to exceed 8000 lbs. Spray system: (1) hydraulic spray boom height adjustable from 25? to 90?; (2) a 150 to 180 gal., stainless steel belly-mount tank with drain for easy clean-out; (3) 20? four function hydraulic fold, front mounted spray boom (dry boom) [30?-50? boom width]; (4) drip-free spray nozzles; (5) pump: Hyd. Cent.; (6) agitation: high volume jet; (7) electronic controlled for spray system (Raven 440 or equivalent) Questions should be received within 20 calendar days of this published notification.
