- Provdie general biological services to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by implementing recovery of species and restoration of habitat on serpentine soils in Santa Clara County, services include, but are not limited to: (1) Conducting a pilot vegetation management study to document and report the effects of different timing and intensity of grazing and mowing treatments on habitat for the federally threatened bay checkerspot butterfly. (2) Quantifying the response to grazing for the federally endangered Santa Clara Valley dudleya; "most beautiful" jewelflower, a federal species of concern; and the California cream cups, the host plant of the Opler's longhorn moth, a federal species of concern.
