Description
VA VISN 22 Network Business Center intends to award a requirements contract for lodging for Veteran Beneficiaries. In accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Item. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-24. NAICS Code 721110 and the small business size standard is $6 million. This procurement is to obtain lodging for Veteran Beneficiaries at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLAHS), located at 11301 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90073. The Government intends to award a requirements contract for Base year, with option for four (4) one year renewal periods. Solicitation shall be posted on or about July 9, 2004. The Contractor shall provide standard room lodging at a nominal daily rate, within a 2-mile radius of the VA GLAHS. It is estimated that fify-five (55) standard rooms would be required each week throughout the agreed period. VA GLAHS needs ten (10) rooms held per day, Sunday through Thursday, and five (5) rooms held on Friday, for Veterans to occupy per day. Daily rates quoted shall include the room rate and all applicable taxes. The rooms shall be fully furnished. If additional rooms are required and available they shall be provided at the same rate. The number of rooms required during the contract period might be subject to increase/decrease, as the need arises. Veterans, as well as, significant others shall be referred to the contractor's facility for lodging. Contractor shall be obligated to hold the rooms for patients until approximately 7:00 PM every evening. Contractor shall allow spouses, significant others or caretakers to stay with the patients, at no additional cost to the Veteran Beneficiary. All common areas, such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms and laundry rooms and bathrooms must be wheelchair accessible. Rooms shall be wheelchair accessible. In no case shall there be interior or access stairs. Rooms shall compley with all city, county, state and federal building codes and ordinances applicable to ownership and operation of the building in which the rooms are located.Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements or submit a quote. All quotes received by 4:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time, August 9, 2004, will be considered by the Government. Inquires will only be accepted in writing by mail, or by facsimile at (562) 826-8067.
