Description
The United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area has a project entitled Ventilation and HVAC Make-Up Air Improvements at NSERL. The project is located at USDA, ARS, MWA, National Soil Erosion Research Lab (NSERL), W. Lafayette, IN. The work includes but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work for heating, ventilating and air conditioning improvements to an existing research lab on the Purdue University Campus. Work includes providing two snorkel exhaust systems, one walk-in laminar flow hood and a 100% outside air make-up system. Primary work will occur in one room with equipment and utility work extending to tie-in locations and on the roof. Associated work includes demolition of casework, cutting and patching, gas and electric service connections, rooftop equipment installation, controls integration into an existing DDC building automation system, testing and balancing. It is anticipated that there will be no asbestos work in this project. The facility will be in operation during construction. The period of performance is 180 days. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. Estimated price range is: Between $100,000 and $250,000. This acquisition will be procured as a full and open competition under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS code is 238220 and the annual size standard is 12.0 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The solicitation packages may be requested, free of charge, by mail, fax, or e-mail to ggerdes@shive-hattery.com or Shive- Hattery, Inc., P.O. All requests for a solicitation package must reference IFB No. 5114-4-1400 and the contact name above. No telephone requests for the solicitation package will be accepted. All responsible and qualified sources may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation package. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. The anticipated IFB solicitation package will be available on or about July 19, 2004.
