Description

Section 2193b of Title 10, United States Code authorizes the Secretary of Defense to conduct a science, mathematics and technology education improvement program known as: Department of Defense STARBASE Program. Subparagraph (g) requires that the Sec retary of Defense submit annually to the Congress a report on the program, covering its design and conduct, and evaluating its effectiveness. Defense Contracting Command-Washington (DCC-W) intends to award a small business set-asidecommercial contract un der FAR Part 12 to secure the services of a contractor to implement a programmatic reporting mechanism, and support strategy for existing STARBASE sites and new sites that are anticipated to be added each year; maintain program website; and to prepare a re port for OSD to submit to Congress, concerning the design, conduct, and effectiveness of the STARBASE program in increasing young people’s understanding and appreciation of math, science, and technology. The period of performance for this contract i s from the date of contract award for twelve consecutive months thereafter with two option years.
