Description

The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with Argent Software, Inc., 6 Forest Park Drive, Farmington, CT 06032 and their authorized resellers under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subsection 6.302-1 ?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements? to purchase Argent Guardian software and monitor agent licenses. The software has the following salient characteristics: The product must be 100% compatible with the current extensive Argent Guardian Monitor deployment, include the ability to monitor the status of distributed Windows based servers; monitor the running programs and applications on those servers; track separate software services on each server; start, stop, and restart those services in response to outage, performance and scripted conditions; parse log files for error conditions and take corrective actions based on those log files; and notify any/all SSA technical personnel via pager or e-mail that corrective actions had been initiated. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is not available; therefore, written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
