- Description
- NASA/GRC has a requirement for four (4) each of additional specialized high speed solenoid valves. The description of the valves is as follows: 304 Stainless Steel, Universal seals for operation with liquid hydrocarbons (JP8, JP10, and JetA) flow rates to 0.06 lbs/sec; and gaseous oxygen and hydrogen service; Maximum allowable working pressure 2400 psig; Maximum pressure rating 5000 psig; Burst pressure 12000 psig; Temperature: 35 to 100 deg F, Operating frequency 60 Hz min.; 1/4" tube size; Electrical : 24 VDC, square wave input, intermittent duty, Current limited to 12 Amps: 0.27 to 0.35 Ohms. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from FLODYNE CONTROLS, using simplified Acquisition Procedures per FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Only Flodyne can provide continuity in operation and testing of the research hardware. Due to the longevity of the research, it is necessary to maintain consistency in data gathering and data reduction. Any change could jeopardize data comparisons of today versus four years ago. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 12, 2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
