Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a cost plus fixed fee contract to Invocon Inc, for engineering services for the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Program. Specifically, Invocon will be required to support Aegis BMD Flight Mission (FM)-7 and provide the following contractor-owned support hardware: Target Data Acquisition System (TDAS) Simulators and a TDAS qualification unit and the Ground Recei ving Units (GRUs). Invocon is the designer of the TDAS electronics instrumentation system. The TDAS was used successfully during FM-5 and FM-6 and is required for FM-7 and FM-10. As the designer of the TDAS, Invocon is the only source with the requisite knowledge and expertise to utilize the system. The period of performance will be from date of contract for twelve months thereafter, with an option for an additional twelve months to provide the same support to Aegis BMD for FM-10. This contract will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
