- The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Central Administrative Support Center (CASC), Acquisitions Management Division (AMD) intends to purchase a high throughput/high capacity DNA Microarrayer. The Microarrayer will be used at the NOAA, National Ocean Services (NOS), Hollings Marine Laboratory, at Charleston, South Carolina The minimum requirement for the DNA Macroarrayer are: (1) A high speed and high capacity microarray spotter suitable for both DNA and protein arraying; (2) the microarray spotter must be equipped with a well plate carousel or plate stacker system; (3) the system must be able to print at least 100,000 high quality features per slide; (4) the spotting head must be able to accommodate variable number of pins but must be able to hold at least 48 pins when fully loaded; (5) the spotting system must be capable of washing with at least two different solvents and thoroughly drying during a single run; (6) the entire system must be contained in a single unit and come complete with an anti-vibration table or suitable floor standing mount; and (7) the system must be supplied complete and ready to use with all necessary peripheral hardware and software including (but not limited to) computer, software, warranty (1 year minimum), training and installation. This solicitation for commercial items will be issued on or about July 22, 2004. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 423490. The small business size standard is 500 employees. All contractors doing business with the Government are now required to be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). This purchase will be made under the guidelines of FAR, Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
