Description
PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: This announcement serves as a advance notice to all potential sources that on or about 22 July 2004, the Materiel Systems Group (MSG), Enterprise Combat Support System (ECSS) Program Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, anticipates the release of a SOURCES SOUGHT Synopsis (SSS) for system integration services. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. REQUESTS FOR A SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. It is important to note that this advance notice is being issued for planning purposes only. The ECSS Program Office does not currently have an approved acquisition strategy. This advance notification does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor does its issuance restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The Government will neither award a contract solely on the basis of this notice, nor pay for any information that is prepared by respondents as a result of this advance notification. Background: The ECSS Program Office is supporting the Air Force (AF) Directorate of Innovations and Transformations (HQ USAF/ILI) in researching the capabilities available through commercial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Advance Planning and Scheduling (APS) products and integrators, learning about industry-leading ERP and APS vendors, and exploring how commercial ERP and APS solutions can accomplish AF logistics scenarios currently being handled by numerous legacy systems. The AF anticipates issuing the SSS on or about 22 July with vendor responses due 5 August 2004. The anticipated SSS will be in support of market research being conducted by the AF to identify capable potential sources interested in providing ERP and APS integration services for the AF-wide ECSS program. Note that this SSS is not for ERP or APS software products, but for integration services related to implementation of ERP or APS for AF-wide logistics.
