Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement for an integrated dual sensing system that can cover the spectral range of 400 ? 2400nm in conducting aerial vegetative assessments of invasive weed and native plant populations. This instrument integrates two sensors, one assessing the visible/near-infrared (VNIR) range (typically 400 ? 1000nm) and the second sensor covering the short-wave infrared (typically 1000 ? 2400nm). The system must provide a complete package that allows imaging, data acquisition, geo-rectification, image processing and classification, and be compatible with existing computer hardware/software. The integrate system must include: 1. A dual head sensor/spectral camera system with 320 pixel swath width and irradiance reference collector. One meter ground-based pixel resolution with 100 frames per second capture rate. a. Sensor 1, visible/near-infrared (400 ? 1000nm) (i) 2.8nm band width resolution intervals b. Sensor 2, short-wave infrared (1000 ? 2400nm) (i) 8nm band width resolution intervals 2. An integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) Inertial Measurement System with fully integrated storage system linked to the spectral data. 3. All unit power supplies with ready connection capabilities to all flight platforms. 4. Calibration equipment and materials for unit assessment and adjustment. 5. A fully functional flight operations system and flight data recorder. a. High bandwidth data recorders with two sets of 4 swappable 120GB hard drives. b. Rugged data acquisition computer, software and integrated support system 6. Mechanical housing unit and mounting bracket for sensor heads, power supplies and auxiliary equipment. Must include a stabilized mount. 7. Post-processing software including geo-rectification, calibration and image analysis software (ENVI Analysis software required to match existing software applications). Interested offerors should contact Clarice Dixson at 510-559-6027 or via e-mail cdixson@pw.usda.gov to be placed on the bidders list for this solicitation.
