Description
The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Carl Zeiss Microimaging Inc., One Zeiss Drive, Thornwood, New York 10594, to purchase on-site full preventive maintenance and calibration inspections service agreement for a period of twelve (12) months on the following Zeiss Microscopes: (1) each LSM 510 AR/Dual HeNe microscope, serial number 851174; one (1) each Confocor Combi System, serial number 1102000158; one (1) each, LSM 510 NLO Dual HeNe, serial number 850675; and one (1) each, Meta Upgrade system for the LSM 510 NLO Dual HeNe. The equipment is manufactured by Zeiss and only the manufacturer is authorized to provide maintenance service. The on site service response time must be within 24 hours from the NIH investigator telephone call. The maintenance service must be performed and supported by trained experts and Certified engineers from Carl Zeiss Microimaging Inc. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811219, Size Standard $6.0 Million is applicable to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement. Responses to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NHLBI-PS-2004-107, must be submitted in writing to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Contracts Operations Branch, Procurement Section, Building RKL2, Suite 6042, 6701 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD 20892-7902, Attention Ms. Cecilia Morales.
