Description

The U.S. Geological Survey, Biological Resources Division, Great Lakes Science Center has a requirement to make a non- competitive award via written request for quotation No. 04ER12 No Solicitation number for a Contract with Brooke Ocean Technology, LTD. For a Moving Vessel Profiler (MVP 200) consisting of winch, cable, hydraulic power unit, free fall fish, overboarding boom, and associated sensors (chlorophyll fluorometer, laser optical plankton counter, dissolved oxygen meter, conductivity-temperature depth probe) The LOPC combines a precision laser; advance optics and high-speed signal processing enabling higher count rates and better "distinct detection capability. The MVP 200 and the LOPC are only available from Brooke Ocean Technology. The MVP 200 is unique in its ability to provide rapid coverage of a large lake system such as the Great Lakes. It is the deployment system for the LOPC. The U.S. Geological Survey anticipates awarding this to Brooke Ocean Technology Limited. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The anticipated award date is 07/12/2004. NAICS is 423490 and SIC is 3695. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Determination to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses to this notice must be submitted via e-mail to: abenton@usgs.gov by 07/07/2004. No additional synopsis will be published.
