- Description
- A new facility is required for air traffic control, base operations, and radar approach control (RAPCON) that will include: reinforced concrete foundation, steel frame, masonry walls, metal roof, and brick veneer exterior. The RAPCON facility is 19, 000 S.F. A new control tower is also required for this project and will consist of a reinforced concrete foundation, supporting superstructure, control tower cab with double pane windows, operations and training areas. The Control Tower facility is 9,750 S.F. and 13 stories tall. Support facilities will include all site work utilities, mechanical, electrical, fire pump and suppression system, backup power system, communications computers and an elevator. Additional site work shall include 70,400 S.F. of concrete paving with concrete curbing, 16,175 S.F. of concrete driveways and concrete curbing, 720 L.F. of fencing and 4,320 S.F. of concrete sidewalks. Demolition of existing asphalt ramp/paving and concrete curbing, existing control tower and building 1095 are included in this scope of work. A Preproposal Conference and site visit for this project is scheduled for July 27, 2004, at 10:00a.m., CDST, at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. Passes to enter the base will be available at the Pass & ID building located at the Main Gate. A picture identification (current driver's license) will be required for all personnel entering the post, along with proof of insurance and vehicle registration. Only those representatives who have registered by name as per the note below will be allowed entrance to the base. Bring with you a copy of this solicitation and this notice. Vehicles are subject to search. Please plan your trip accordingly. The preproposal conference will convene at 10:00a.m., CDST, in the Conference Room, Building 1402 (Base Civil Engineering), located on the north side of 9th Avenue. NOTE: Prospective offerors who plan to attend the conference MUST provide, by facsimile, a list of names and titles of representatives, not to exceed three (3) per of feror, who will attend the conference NO LATER THAN 11:00a.m., July 23, 2004. The list should be transmitted to RANDY BRATCHER, fax number 918-669-7495. Estimated cost range of this project is $10,000,000 to $25,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available on/or about July 16, 2004, and will be provided on Compact Disk (CD-ROM). THE NUMBER OF CD-ROMS WILL BE LIMITED TO ONE (1) PER FIRM. Plans, specifications, and planholders lists will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
