- Description
- The Southern Plains Area for the Agricultural Research Service, of the U.S. Department of Agriculture intends to issue an award to Advanced Chemtech, Inc., 5609 Fern Valley Road, Louisville, KY 40228. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations (RFQ) for competition. This is a simplified acquisition. The USDA, Southern Plains Area Research Center, Areawide Pest Management Research Unit in College Station, Texas requires the robotic, multi-peptide synthesizer, the ACT Model 357FBS Flexible Biomolecular Synthesizer, will aid the scientists and support staff affiliated with the neuropeptide mimic CRIS to design and develop biostable, bioavailable non-peptide mimics of arthropod neuropeptides as environmentally-friendly pest arthropod control agents. The peptides via solid support synthetic techniques using the ‘libraries from libraries’ concept. The concept entails a ‘split and combine’ protocol. This concept envisions the transformation of peptide libraries into rationally-designed non-peptide combinatorial libraries. This instruments requires A)*collection vessel with inert gas mixing capability; B) central PTFE reaction vessel block with at least 36 wells (at least 6.0 mL each); C)*dual arm robotic synthesis module; D) chemically inert work table; E) monomer rack assembly with at least 36 bottles (working volume of at least 40 mL); F) vacuum assisted bottom filtration; G) at least 5 reagent bottles (350 mL each); H) ventilation capability; I) waste/wash system with vacuum driven outlet ports; J) front safety panel; K) must fit on standard lab benchtop; L) 1 year warranty on parts and labor M) installation, shipping and on-site training. *A critical component. Furnish quotations to Gloria Lopez, Contracting Officer, USDA, ARS, SPARC, 2881 F&B Road, College Station, Texas 77845, no later than 4:30 p.m., July 21, 2004.
