Description
NAICS Code: 541620 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Office of Air and Radiation (OAR) Office of Atmospheric Programs (OAP) Climate Protection Partnerships Division (CCPD) intends to award a sole source firm fixed-price Purchase Order using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to the Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) of Lansdale, PA. The purpose of this acquisition is to prepare the MAC industry for next generation technologies that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and release fewer high global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants. Under this Purchase Order, MACS shall promote industry and consumer awareness of the need to further minimize hydrofluorocarbon (HFC-134a) refrigerants. In addition, MACS shall develop clear standards for procedural guidelines for the maintenance of upcoming air conditioning systems, address early and continuous communication for the service sector to ensure safety and consumer satisfaction of emerging systems, and develop an independent service infrastructure to support alternate refrigerant MAC systems. It has been determined that due to MACS' ability in address the previous refrigerant transition (from ozone-depleting CFC-12 to R-134a), it is the only vendor uniquely qualified to satisfy the Government's requirement to advance current transitions. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541620. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received within 10 calendar days of the date of this announcement will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to Contract Specialist Mr. Jami Rodgers via e-mail at rodgers.jami@epa.gov.
