Description

Naval Air Systems Command intends to procure commercial air services for the Mediterranean area beginning January 2005. The contract period of performance, including the base period and options, will not exceed 60 months with an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract type. The commercial air services will consist of passenger transport and fleet training including electronic warfare, air intercept control, and target tow. Up to three contractor owned and operated planes, consisting of two passenger and one swing (passenger and mission configuration), will be based in Naples, Italy. The passenger planes need to carry 8 to 10 passengers (to be determined). The contractor will operate under FAA Part 135, or Civil Aviation Authority equivalent, and must be certified by the Air Mobility Command for passenger transport in the Mediterranean area. The planes must be equipped in accordance with the ICAO/JAA requirements for flying within European air space. The estimated value is $30M over five years. The NAICS Code is 488190, ?Other Support Activities for Air Transportation? with a size standard of $6M. NAVAIR expects to release the request for proposals by 15 July 2004.
