- Description
- The Ogden ALC Space and C3I Directorate, AF Tactical Shelter & Radome Program Office (OO-ALC/LHH) at Hill AFB, UT is seeking sources that can provide all the necessary electrical and structural design work, manufacturing, and RF testing for a next generation of large ground-based advanced composite radomes for various radar systems, including the WSR-88D and the AN/FPS-124. Of utmost importance is that this next generation of radomes be designed with materials that have appropriate dielectric constants that, coupled with the radome design, yield very low transmission losses. Also of very high importance is that these radomes have hydrophobic properties such that water will bead on the radome surface instead of sheeting. Additionally, these radomes should not require painting, should not delaminate, and should be able to be used in various radar systems, as listed previously, by making slight alterations (e.g. changing panel thickness) in the design. Potential sources are invited to submit a Statement of Capabilities by 4:00 p.m. Mountain Standard time by 19 July 2004 to the following address: Tactical Shelter/Radome Program Office, OO-ALC/LJHH, 6021 Gum Lane, Bldg 1228, Hill AFB, UT 84056. Submissions should be limited to 10 pages and should be specific in outlining source's capabilities to produce large ground based radomes that increase the life cycles and decrease the maintenance of current panels in use by the Air Force today. Note: This is a sources sought synopsis only, not a request for proposals (RFP), and this is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals, nor will any award be made as a result of this synopsis. No proprietary data should be submitted in response to the synopsis. Any submissions will be considered to be public information and may be handled by non-government personnel. ________________________________________ PROGRAM MANAGER: Catherine Wolfe MAILING ADDRESS: OO-AlC/LHH 6021 Gum Lane Bldg 1228 Hill AFB, UT 84056 PHONE NUMBER: DSN: 586-3751 Comm: 801-586-3751 E-MAIL: Catherine.wolfe@hill.af.mil CONTRACTING SPECIALIST/OFFICER: Eileen Wahlstrom MAILING ADDRESS: OO-ALC/LHY 6021 Gum Lane Bldg 1228 Hill AFB, UT 84056 PHONE NUMBER: Comm: 801-586-3364 EMAIL:Eileen.wahlstrom@hill.af.mil Please send E-Mail to the Contracting Officer {POC} Large Ground-Based Advanced Composite Radomes for Various Radar Systems with Increased Life Cycles and Decreased Maintenance Purpose: The AF Tactical Shelter & Radome Program Office (OO-ALC/LHH) requires significant improvements in the design of current radomes used in the WSR-88D and AN/FPS-124 radar systems. In general, such improvements should increase the life cycles, decrease the required maintenance, and reduce the cost of manufacturing of these radomes. Specifically, such improvements should include requiring no painting and reducing or eliminating delamination of radome panels while meeting all RF, structural, and environmental requirements of said radar systems. Please uploaded file for futher details.
