Description
The VA Palo Alto Health Care System, California will issue Solicitation No. 261-0189-4, Renovate Menlo Park - Division Bldg. 329 Dietic Facility/Seismic Upgrade(Design/Build)on or about June 30, 2004. The objective of this project is the renovation (design/build effort) of the Menlo Park Dietetic Facility, Bldg 329 (~ 25,000 SF). This renovation includes both: (1) Dietetic food services equipment/functionality modernization; (2) and Facility Infrastructure improvements (HVAC, electrical, seismic and interior upgrades). This project also includes the creation of temporary swing space in Bldgs 324 and 334 (~ 5,800 SF affected space) to enable temporary Dietetic operations while Bldg 329 is vacated for renovation and upgrade. Additionally, it will be required to return swing space areas to normal occupancy use after temporary Dietetic use. This project also includes, responsibility for the relocation of Dietetic operations (equipment and activation) from Bldg 329 to its temporary operating location Bldgs (324 and 334) and back as the project progresses. THIS PROCUREMENT IS LIMITED TO 8(a)FIRMS, WITH AN APPROVED NACIS 236220. This limitation is in accordance with FAR 52.219-18 (June2003), Nofification of Competition Limited to 8(a) Concerns. Procurement method: Contracting by negotiation FAR Part 15, Source Selection (Best Value) where the importance of cost and technical selection factors may vary. Extensive prior renovation experience of similar type health care project magnitude and complexity will be part of technical evaluation. The cost range if between $4M and $6M. The solicitation is scheduled to be released on or about June 30, 2004, with proposals due on or about August 16, 2004, at the VA Palo Health Care System (VAPAHCS)facility with exact location and time identified in the solicitation. A pre-proposal conference has been tentatively scheduled for 14 July 2004. Confirmation of the pre-proposal conference date, time and location will be contained in the solicitation.
