Description

This is a notice that the Government intends to award a contract to Brashear LP, 615 Epsilon Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 to upgrade and refurbish NASA's Fleet of Kineto Tracking Mounts (KTM's) Pedestals by fully reconditioning and replacing mechanica l parts and assemblies as necessary to restore the KTM to the original manufactures specification. In addition, the refurbish and upgrade will include design, development, and installation of servo controls components comprised of the Digital Servo Power Amplifier (DSPA) and Digital Control System (DCS) that must be hardware and software compatible to the exiting KTM's Remote Control Electronics. Brashear has proprietary rights on the design of the pedestals and is the only known source that can meet our requirement. Other than full and open competition will be used under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirement. This notice is not a request for quotations. No solicitatio n or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties must respond by COB 22 Jun 2004. See note 22.
